Lemon juice challenge

Ok more more more stuff. I was on youtube. (black hole to where I get pulled in.... But I love it)
So yea I saw a video on a lemon juice challenge. I was reading and watching articles and videos about the values of lemon juice. 1st of all the recipe calls for warm water with 1/2 to 1 "FRESH" lemon 1st thing in the morning with no food. I like to put a tablespoon of REAL maple syrup to take the tang out of it.

So here are the benefits

  • Nutritionally, lemon's potassium content nourishes the brain and nerve cells. Its calcium content builds healthy bones and healthy teeth. Its magnesium, in conjunction with calcium, plays an important part in the formation of blood albumen. One lemon contains 48.3% potassium, 29.9%calcium, 11.1% phosphorus, and 4.4% magnesium.
  • Lemons have been used to treat liver disorderscolds, coughsflu symptoms, diphtheria, and fever.

  • Visceral fat is caused by an over-accumulation of toxins in your body! When toxins enter your body, they are surrounded by fat cells and then stored. Drinking lemon water is a healthy way to get rid of those excesses and lose weight!

  • Lemon can help relieve many digestion problems when mixed with hot water. These include nausea, heartburnconstipation and parasites. It is even known to help relieve hiccups when consumed as a juice.
  • Lemon juice acts as a liver tonic and helps you digest your food by helping your liver produce more bile. It decreases the amount of phlegm produced by your body. It is also thought to help dissolve gallstones.

  • Lemons help purify the liver by eliminating toxins and waste products.

  • Lemon juice also relieves symptoms of asthma, tonsillitis, and sore throats.

  • Because of its high vitamin C content, it is used to prevent and treat many infections, hasten wound healing, and diminish allergies.

  • Since lemon is a natural diuretic, lemons mixed with water is especially good for people with urinary tract infections. People with arthritis or rheumatism can benefit from consuming lemons because it helps flush out toxins and bacteria.

  • When lemons are mixed with coffee, it may help relieve headaches. It is possible that lemon juice cancels out the side effects of caffeine found in coffee. (Interestingly, although caffeine can sometimes cause headaches, many OTC headache medications include caffeine.)

  • Lemon water cleanses and purifies your body and also has an alkalizing effect. It is essential to every bodily function at a cellular level. Although bottled water has become a staple product of our present day society, its not your best choice for water consumption. You should drink water that's clean and pure. Use a home water purifying system at home and reuse bottles you've already got on hand. The water you drink is essential to your existence but we forget how much we rely on it until we don't have it. Then we really miss and crave it. (Think about Hurricane Katrina or the reality show Survivor!)

  • When you consume both water and lemon in your diet, you increase your chances of staying healthy longer. When you mix them together to make lemon water, you get a healthy way to replenish and rejuvenate your body.
  • Sooooooooo  I am excited about the benefits and what changes I can make in my diet/exercise regimen. They say to do it for 28 days but I think its not a hard challenge and will make it a daily  going forward.

    Squeem!!

Well I tried!! LOL I initially bought the squeem on Amazon.com and I was wearing it for 8 hours a day. It was tight at first but I got so used to it I was able to secure to the second level on it. But it had one drawback. It pinched my back area. I felt kinda scared cuz I thought maybe it might affect my kidneys or something. So I returned it and I will get a credit for it. The benefits of it

    I felt less hungry
I sit  and stand straight (posture improved)
I look more slimmer in clothes

I paid $30 for size.Medium. Depending on the size you order you can pay a little more or less. But I miss it. I really wanted to make it work but my health comes first. I had it from Nov 7th until Nov 29th. I also must admit I have scoliosis  and a bit lordotic so I think with that it pinched a bit due to that also. Just dissapointed  on a great product.

    Insanity exercise video

Well I have put this off enough.. I started the insanity video. OMG. yea I did the fit test. And I "sorta" suck. I must say my heart is pumping but they make it so simple on the video. I hope however to be in shape soon. I did the video with my son. He isnt as coordinated so it was hard keeping his form and following directions. But we both had a great workout. I have a little headache and I think its because of lack of water. I had a small Thanksgiving and I think that was my jumpstart because I dont want to eat as much and keep a smaller frame. I am not fat or overweight but I tend to gravitate weight ONLY to my belly. And when that happens my back arches in and I just look awful. I have a squeem that helps me with form and it actually helps with keeping the belly tucked in and when I take it off after 8 hours I feel like I want to stay straight. So back to the video. I did the fit test. I didnt write down any numbers but I think in two weeks I will gauge whether or not I have done better. I have a gym membership but it takes 30 to 45 min to get there and with my low budget and gas I think a home workout will be best. I will take pics from time to time and maybe you will see results. I right now wont do it cause my belly is one hot mess LOL. Ok I am going to eat dinner. Soup and half a sandwich. Its light and small and probably a cup of tea. I feel a rush right now and I want to keep moving cause I am going to crash soon. I have goals to be fit and hopefully I get there. yaayy

    TV/DIRECTV/ ROKU BOX

Yea I pay $84 for cable. It is deducted from my checking account. Oh boy the food I can buy with that. I work and then there is nothing on tv when I get home sometimes. I sometimes need tv to sleep. That sometimes backfires when I dream about Ginzo or stupid Wen informercials. I actually am convinced by the time I wake up that I need a Ab machine and Shark steam Vac!!! I know im not well. LOL So yea I broke down and cancelled 2 of the boxes and then as soon as my DVR is watched with past shows I will cancel DIRECTV. I decided to buy the ROKU box. It cost $74 and offers free tv and movies wth the choice of doing the HULU channel or Netflix for $7.99 a month (Netflix has tier payments starting at $8.99) I have a ban on Netflix so I am not going to push for a while. Them fools ruined my experience overcharging and I wont stand for it!! SO yea the ROKU box streams the tv channels thru wireless internet. You can hook it up easily by AV plugs, HDMI or by USB Stick into a flat screen tv that accepts it. i have a Old box tv and have the dream of one day a flat screen LED tv. FUTURE DREAMS!!! LOL. Ok so check out their website. I got the one without the game cause who needs angry birds when its on the freaking android or iphone LOL. Here is the website

    http://www.roku.com

So if I pay $84 in cable one month pays off the box. Yea now think about the people that are paying for serious sport channels or language channels.  I dont know but I think it says you can watch sports on here so Id look into it. Could be a sweet option. Us broke ass people need to improvise. I cant be with Pa carving wood LOL. Oh yea if you have a Wii there is the hulu channel and the Netflix channel so you can stream with the wii and then get a antennae. I was just about to get a box for the Living room and my son saved me by showing me that. Oh yea the boy wants to eat in the future. Hahaha. Ok so when I get it on Wednesday I will post how I feel about it. I am easy to please. This ROKU box is similar to appletv.
Forgot to tell you. Make sure you return all boxes or you get charged and in my case I own the DVR. On Amazon.com  you can resell it and ship it to them for free and get a gift card which I use to get household things and food (if a good price or prime delivery). Win WIN
Anywho glad to share the knowledge. Hugs

    Sewing machine

I got some dough and I bought a sewing machine. I used to sew when I was younger. But mostly hand sewing. I have a sewing machine but its soo old it fell off the Mayflower. Its at my parents house and is attached to a table. when I get room I will bring it so I have a working space. But yea I bought a sewing machine. It is a

    Brother 25-Stitch Free-Arm Sewing Machine, XL-2600i

    Wooooo hooo
I think!! It was a pretty penny and I hope to make shit for days. I love clothes but never have money to buy. So something popped in my head.... poof. How about I make my own crap with my own fabric and my own cut to fit my body. My son already has requests. LOL So when I get catalogs I circle the clothes one day I will make and I save emails in folders and print up stuff. I plan to also get patterns as they go on sale because lord knows it will add up.  So I went to Walmart to buy the machine because they are part of Upromise and I will get 5% back in sales to a college fund. I wanted to do Amazon because it was the same price but free 2 day shipping but I wanted the cash back. Believe me I was miserable cause I had to wait for the package then go and get it. yes I am lazy but sometimes things get a little murky at  your Walmart. The other day while in line a lady threatened to kill or maim her friend if she didnt shut up.  THe lady apologized how mad she was going to get and how she admitted she would kill her friend. Yea I went home from that line early before the massacre was even a thought. I just think sticking around for that isnt worth dying for in a Walmart. SO off that tangent. Yes the machine was $88 and on sale. It makes buttons (I was told that is cool) and the automatic bobbin (also cool). 25 stitches well I dont know what Ill do with that but I upgraded. What the hey. So yea its portable and I signed up for sewing classes on meetup.com. ITS FREE classes and the girl is around my age and makes clothes for her daughter which I think is super awesome (including halloween costumes) . So whats so great about that. Well sewing classes is what was holding me up. I cant afford classes on my budget and then the classes are during the day when people WORK!! So that would mean I never would learn to sew. So my meetups are every other Sunday and Thurs evening. I am saving a ton of dough. And will make things around the house I so desired. Like hemming pants, curtains, duvet covers etc. I am a nerd but a good looking one dammit. I have been watching youtube videos like a fiend learning about my machine and working my way up the chain of stalker on their pages. I know its a problem. But yea so my first class is Nov 11th. Pray for me sistas. I really want to make this a hobby to possibly get away from TV (sorta)

    Halve your heating bill

    Well Well Well
Where has this girl been. Well I have been depressed, happy, upset, in love and broke LOL. Yeaaaay sounds like a great election emotion. So yes today I am going to talk about saving money heating your home. Or at least how I do it.

I first recommend putting on clothes!!! May not sound like a genius idea but it works. I have poor circulation while my son is usually hot because he is constantly moving with his fun ADHD. So what we both have is thermal socks. Then the next thing to wear along with your sweats is a nice cuddly robe. I got ours at hanes.com. I want to give you a tip. When you subscribe you will get a catalogue in the mail and also emails. THE PRICE IS DIFFERENT ON BOTH. I found out that its cheaper to order online then thru the catalogue. My son thought I was a weirdo getting excited about saving money. But as I remind him. More money to eat with.  I got a XL size (I am a medium but I wanted to be like a blanket size robe) cheetah print and I got him a mens XL grey robe so it will be big and cozy on him. Ours cost about $16.99 each and the fabric is microfleece. I like it because it is superwarm, doesnt pill, and ultra soft.  I have bought ghetto snuggies and people dont bother. There is no insulation. I used the snuggies to make window drafters LOL.

So the next suggestion is to get a programmable thermostat to be low during the hours you are not there (work, shopping school) and then warm up the house during dinner and then it goes down a lil when sleeping. I keep mines around 68 but my apt is always maintaining 73. I am blessed. Well blessed until I move. I also put a sign designating that only I can operate the machine. There you know it wont be messed with.

Other tips are to cover window drafts with heavy cloths or cloth filled bags with beans or pebbles to keep the breeze from coming in. Also go to the Walmart to get window cling. I would say go to Target but Walmart has a big variety. Especially for patio door size windows.

What I also do is drink lots of tea. I have a great percolator (I was raised overseas so its a part of life). I got mine from livingsocial.com for $20. I think originally it was $60. I bought it because it is cordless and heats water in 2 minutes and then I dont have to worry about the boy using the stove.

Ok so this one people need to take advantage. So at dinner you made rolls  or broiling steak yada yada yada. When you are done you turn off the oven. Why not crack the oven and warm up the place. DISCLAIMER Dont be that one who leaves the oven on and dies. Make sure and cook your food, turn it off and crack it open after to warm up a little.

Wear a hat. Yea put on something on your noggin. Something cute LOL. Alot of heat escapes the scalp and that my friends means you  retain it.

Ok the last cheapie way to get warm is to put your clothes for 5 minutes in the dryer and bust that baby on!!!  I did that at my dads house before we chopped wood. Oh yea wilderness woman here. LOL

Last winter warmness is.... go to the mall. Its warm there too LOL Walking and doing window shopping saves money and the building is nice and warm until you get home. The less hours at home the more you save too.
